The only downside to this product is that it requires a lot of electricity. Most houses are wired for 200 AMPs, but some of the older ones may have less. This product uses three 60 amps or 180 amps. That's quite a bit and unless your house is wired for more, your breakers will keep switching off. The product is superb. I think electricity is cheaper with oil around $140/barrel. I believe a natural gas product is more efficient, but an electric product requires no yearly maintenance fee whereas a natural gas water heater requires annual maintenance which will run between $100-$150 a year. It's really hard to know exactly what I'm paying for heating water each month, but I would guess around $50 per month for a house with 4 people, 4 showers, a dishwasher, and a laundry washer. I like it much better than my former 80 gallon oil burning tank water heater especially after looking at the rusty water that was coming out of it at the end of its life. Now I can take a shower as long as I want.
