I installed the RTG53DVN 2 months ago, and my family and I LOVE IT!! We no longer have to ask if there is enough hot water to take a shower, do the laundry, dishes, etc. We have a fairly large family- 2 adults and 5 kids, and we used to constantly run out of hot water with the old 40 gal. storage tank water heater. I'm happy to say those days are over! The first night after I installed it, one right after another, we took our showers. My wife took her typical hot shower, but she stayed in the shower for 30 minutes to try it out. Needless to say, the water stayed hot the whole time! We have the usual appliances: 2 showers, dishwasher, wash machine. We've had 1 shower and the dishwasher going with no problem. Likewise, we've had 1 shower and the wash machine going, and also both showers going at the same time with no problems. Not to mention the storage space I gained from getting rid of my 40 gal. tank! For us, it was definately worth buying! I don't think I could go back to using a tank type water heater, and my wife agrees!
